Roadwork in North Scottsdale requires closure of Loop 101 ramp for 60 days

INDEPENDENT NEWS MEDIA

The southbound Loop 101 ramp at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will be closed beginning early Monday, August 19, for approximately 60 days.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the ramp is being rebuilt as part of the ongoing highway widening project in northern Scottsdale.

Drivers who would normally use the ramp should plan an alternate route, such as taking the Raintree Drive ramp onto southbound Loop 101, state transportation officials said.

The $108 million Pima Freeway Improvement Project between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive/Pima Road began in January.

Over the course of the two-year Loop 101 project, ADOT says on- and off-ramps between Shea Boulevard and Pima Road/Princess Drive will be rebuilt to accommodate the wider freeway, with the entire project expected to be completed in early 2026.

The project will add one lane in each direction to 4.5 miles of the Pima Freeway north of Shea Boulevard. Other improvements include reshaping the Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard interchange into a diamond shape and installing new signs, traffic signals and lighting.
