BALTIMORE – Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott married Hana Pugh in a small private ceremony at Walther Gardens on Sunday.

“We decided to surprise everyone. No one knew when we were getting there, so we had a true Brandon Scott style wedding,” Scott said. “We are very happy and glad we held this event in a private, intimate setting with those we love to show our everlasting love for each other. We did it in true Baltimore style with a chicken box and snowballs.”

Bryan Doherty, a spokesman for the mayor’s office, said the ceremony was performed by District Judge Lynn Stewart Mays in the presence of several dozen close family members and friends.

“The Mayor’s Office is thrilled for the newlywed couple, and we know the entire City of Baltimore will join us in congratulating them as they celebrate the beginning of this joyous union with their loved ones,” Doherty said.

Scott announced his engagement to Pugh on Christmas Day. One day later, the couple welcomed “Baby magic.”

Pugh is the director of operations at Bmore Empowered, a nonprofit that provides programs for Black girls and women, as well as administrative and accounting support to nonprofits and women-owned businesses in Baltimore,” according to our media partner The Baltimore Banner.
