Woman allegedly stole two pickups in one night

PARAGOULD, Arkansas (KAIT) – Police have arrested a Paragould woman suspected of breaking into multiple vehicles and stealing two pickup trucks in one night.

Greene County District Court Judge Daniel Stidham found Monday that there was sufficient probable cause to charge 19-year-old Mahkayla Largo with the following:

  • Theft of property – $25,000 or more, a Class B felony
  • Theft of property – less than $25,000 but more than $5,000, a Class C felony
  • Two counts of burglary, a class D felony
  • Second degree criminal damage, a class D felony
  • Second-degree criminal damage, a class B misdemeanor

On August 6, a victim reported that someone had searched two of his vehicles and stolen a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup from his home.

According to the affidavit, the suspect was caught on surveillance footage driving the stolen pickup truck slowly through another residential area with the headlights off.

“The female suspect can be seen exiting the Dodge truck and walking through the yard to a vehicle in the driveway,” court documents state. “A second victim from this subdivision reported that his vehicle, a 2023 GMC Sierra, was stolen and returned to his home, but his truck had sustained significant front-end damage.”

According to investigators, surveillance footage showed the same female suspect getting out of the stolen GMC truck and approaching several other vehicles in the development.

A third victim reported to police that his brick mailbox had been destroyed.

“The damage to the mailbox is consistent with the damage to the stolen GMC truck,” the affidavit states.

After photos of the suspect circulated among patrol officers, several officers identified the suspect as Largo.

“A victim submitted messages she had received identifying Largo as a suspect,” court documents state. “Police also received an anonymous tip identifying Largo as a suspect.”

She is being held at the Greene County Detention Center on $25,000 cash bail pending her next court date.
