ForbesToday’s NYT “Connections” Tips and Answers for Thursday, November 7th (#515)

Hey, gang. The weekend is almost upon us after a damn long week. Before we get there, however, we have one more game to play Connections to check out.

Today NYT Connections Hints and answers for Friday, November 8th will follow soon.

How to play connections

Connections is a free, popular one New York Times daily pun. You will receive a new puzzle every day at midnight. You can play on that NYT Website or gaming app.

You will be presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to divide them into four groups of four by figuring out the connections between them. The groups can be, for example, elements that you can click on, names of research participants, or words preceded by a body part.

Each puzzle has only one solution, and you have to be careful when it comes to words that could fit into more than one category. You can mix up the words to perhaps better see the connections between them.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to understand, blue and green are in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often contains puns.

Select four words that you think go together and click Send. If you guess and are wrong, you lose a life. When you’re close to finding the right group, you may see a message saying you’re one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which word to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure that this doesn’t happen with the help of some tips, and if you really find it difficult, even with today’s ones Connections Answer. Like with Wordle and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

If you have one NYT You can access this with an All Access or Games subscription Connections Archive. This includes every previous game from Connectionsso you can go back and play any songs you missed.

Aside from the first 60 or so games, you should be able to find my clues for each grid via Google if you need to! Simply click here and enter the date of the game for which you need hints or answers to the search query.

What are today’s connection solutions?

Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll any further down the page until you’re ready to find out today Connections Answer.

This is your final warning!

Today Connections Answers are…

  • Yellow Group – Escapade (ANTIC, CAPER, EXPLOIT, STUNT)
  • Green group – types of cucumbers (DILL, KOSHER, SOUR, SWEET)
  • Blue group – daring (ADULTS, BLUE, SPICY, SUGGESTIONAL)
  • Purple group – cut ____ (CHEESE, CORD, DECK, MUSTARD)

It wasn’t a perfect game today, but my overall win streak is now 12. This is what happened to me:

🟨🟨🟨🟨

I quickly got the yellows, followed by the blues. After that I got a bit stuck.

I tried to guess DECK, SOUR, SWEET and CORD and concluded that CHEESE, SUSTARD, KOSHER and DILL could be the greens but not a cigar.

CHEESE, SOUR, SWEET and DILL left me with one left though. DECK and CORD were out of contention, so I swapped CHEESE for MUSTARD and was left with one. Swapping the latter for KOSHER got the job done.

I absolutely detest cucumbers (and cucumbers in general), although I have enjoyed lightly pickled vegetables in Japanese restaurants. I had some luck here, although I thought DILL might have something to do with these disgusting creations.

Be that as it may, that left the purple with victory. I initially thought CORD and STUNT might be things you could pull, so I wasn’t far off the right approach.

That’s all for today Connections Hints and answers. Be sure to check out my blog for tips and the solution for Saturday’s game if you need them.

PS: I’m going to make a different kind of recommendation today. If you’re unfamiliar with terms like “compound interest,” “dollar cost averaging,” and “time on market,” it’s worth familiarizing yourself with some personal finance concepts.

You’re never too young (or too old!) to start building for the future. The sooner you start saving and investing the money you can afford, the more time there is for growth, so you’ll feel much more financially comfortable in the years and decades to come.

I’m feeling somewhat comfortable now, but I’ve only started learning about this topic relatively recently. If I had had more financial knowledge in my early 20s, I would be in a much better position now.

I’ve read a book or two and subscribed to a few trusted YouTube channels on the subject (contact me if you’d like me to share). But there is actually a Forbes newsletter designed to help beginners with budgeting, investing, saving for retirement, etc. You can register here:

ForbesPersonal Finance 101 Newsletter – Tips for beginners on budgeting, investing, saving and more

(Please note that this is not financial advice, nor is it sponsored in any way. I just hope to help younger readers avoid the same mistakes I made early on!)

If you feel like it, please do it Follow my blog for more coverage of Connections and other puns and even some video game news, insights and analysis. It helps me a lot!
