Early last week, more Kentuckians voted than ever before — 792,476, Republican Secretary of State Michael Adams said on X.

This number includes votes cast during the three days of early voting and the six days of in-person, excused absentee voting.

On Election Day Tuesday, polls in Kentucky will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time. In addition to voting for the next president, Kentucky voters will decide on general elections, two constitutional amendments, local ballot initiatives and more.

Adams said that 656,277 Kentuckians Cast ballots with no-excuse early voting. Most were registered Republicans, 52.6%. Meanwhile, 40.3% were registered as Democrats and 7.1% as independents or other.

According to the Kentucky State Board of ElectionsMore than 3.5 million voters are eligible to vote in the parliamentary election.

On the first day of no-excuse early voting in 2024, 225,696 voters in Kentucky participated. “First day of early voting 2020: 57,154 voted” Adams said. “First day of early voting 2022: 81,961 voted. So: Wow.”

Early voting was founded in Kentucky in 2020 due to health concerns during the coronavirus pandemic. Adams and Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear supported the proposal at the time.

Before early voting began this year, Adams issue a plea to “For God’s sake, vote early.” Voters apparently I took this advice to heartas reports of queues at polling stations began almost immediately after three days of early voting began on Thursday.

Former Republican Secretary of State Trey Grayson said on X He served as Boone County’s election supervisor Saturday.

“We had uninterrupted voting from 7 a.m. when we opened until 30 minutes after we were scheduled to close at 3 p.m. so that everyone who was in line at 3 p.m. could vote,” Grayson said. “Our voters have been kind and patient. Nobody was rude. It was a good day.”

False Fraud Allegation in Laurel County

For the most part, early voting in Kentucky went smoothly. However, a video that appeared to show a Laurel County voter’s swing from former President Donald Trump to Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday circulated on social media and was even reached Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump.

In response, Taylor Brown, general counsel for the State Board of Elections, said: shared a statement from the commission, which said the voter showed the video to election officials at the polling station after correcting her selections and successfully printing her ballot.

“According to the voter’s statements to the County Clerk, the voter was ultimately able to properly use the touchscreen to highlight the field for Donald Trump and any other of their preferred candidates,” the statement said.

The ExpressVote machine printed a paper ballot “with all of their preferred choices listed.” The voter had the opportunity to review the ballot before entering it into an ES&S DS200 ballot scanner. According to statements she made to the local county clerk, “she was able to successfully submit her ballot, which included votes for Donald Trump and her other preferred votes, into the DS200 ballot scanner, thereby registering her vote,” the board said.

The voter showed the county clerk the video, the statement said. The clerk tried to reproduce the problem with the touchscreen, but couldn’t when he tapped the box to select Trump. He was able to recreate it by touching between the machine’s fields. Nevertheless, the clerk took the used machine out of circulation and contacted the public prosecutor’s office. An investigator was dispatched to investigate the matter.

The board said it “encourages voters in counties that use ExpressVote touch screens to use their finger or a stylus to make their selection in the exact center of the space designated for that candidate or answer,” it added that Those who believe they have encountered a problem should report their concerns to local election officials and then to the Attorney General’s election hotline, 1-800-328-VOTE.

“Once the voter left the polling station, she uploaded the media she had captured to her social media accounts and flagged other influencer accounts known to be spreading voter fraud claims, stating that her Video needs to get ‘to the public’,” the voter statement said.

“In the hours following the initial release of her video, the voter spent time on social media reposting the accounts that promoted her original video.”

Asked whether legal action could be taken against the voter for spreading false information after she knew her vote was properly recorded, Brown said that “the decision rests with law enforcement.”

Trump, the RNC co-chair, said on We called election officials directly. They disconnected the machine, conducted proper tests, found no errors, and confirmed that voters were able to cast their vote properly.”
