Anze Kopitar and Kevin Fiala were in the right place at the right time on Monday, leading the Los Angeles Kings to a 3-0 road win over the Nashville Predators.

Both players grabbed rebounds and helped the Kings rebound from a shootout loss to Chicago on Saturday. The win gave the team its second win in three games and gave Nashville its third loss in four contests.

Kings goaltender Darcy Kuemper stopped 16 shots for his first shutout of the season and his fourth in two stints with Los Angeles. He also earned his fourth win in seven games this season.

Kopitar scored the first goal with 6:36 left in the first period. He skated the entire length of the ice before returning to Adrian Kempe. Kempe found Brandt Clarke, who fired a shot at Predators goalkeeper Juuse Saros from near the left faceoff circle.

Kopitar, a 19-year veteran, rushed to the net, collected the rebound and scored his fifth goal of the season. It was his 424th goal for the Kings, placing him third on the franchise’s all-time list behind Dave Taylor seven times.

Kopitar – who leads the team with 14 points in 13 games this season – also set the Kings’ franchise record for most game-winning goals with 73, surpassing the mark he shared with Hall of Famer Luc Robitaille.

Clarke got his team-leading 11th assist and Kempe was also credited with an assist.

Los Angeles doubled its lead just 35 seconds into the final period. Fiala and Phillip Danault had a two-on-one chance, with Soros parrying Danault’s shot. However, Soros couldn’t control the puck and Fiala took advantage to score his sixth goal of the season. Trevor Moore and Danault received assists.

Kempe added an empty-net goal with 2:58 left. Trevor Lewis and Vladislav Gavrikov set up Kempe’s fifth goal of the season.

The Kings’ defense held the Predators in check as they only took three shots in the third period, all of which came in the final four minutes.

Soros made 24 saves for the Predators.
