Last US election: Joe Rogan gives late approval; FBI warns Russian actors trying to ‘instill fear in voters’ | US News

While thousands gathered at Muhlenberg College Memorial Hall to hear Kamala Harris speak, a group of Trump supporters gathered outside.

The college students held signs and were adorned with Donald Trump merchandise as they chanted the former president’s name.

“I wanted to come out and support Trump, our future president. Nothing hostile. We just wanted a peaceful show of support,” said Payton, 20.

He was joined by Robert, Sean, Nick, Stoney and Vin – all students and football players.

Robert told me he would prefer not to say why he supports the former president, while Sean said he strongly believes in the 78-year-old’s economic plans.

While they were talking to me, two women and a man walked behind them.

“Smart kids, go Trump,” they shout.

Nick said life in the US had been better under Mr Trump and his foreign policy plans would “put America first”.

“The prices for milk, eggs and gasoline are simply very high. Things have to change,” he said

He said Ms Harris was a “more polarizing figure” and that the country would become “even more divided” under her leadership.

“If Kamala really was the right president, she would have done what she said she would do for the last five years,” Vin added.

This is the first election in which these young men have been allowed to vote.

Of Ms. Harris, Payton said: “She’s definitely not my president and I’ll leave it at that, she’s not the type of person I would want as president.”

He said voters have been influenced by social media and they need to “look at the facts.”

Sean agreed: “The current state of the media is so divided and there is so much mudslinging from both sides. I think it’s more important to look at what he did for the country,” he said.

“Whatever it takes to get him back to where we were, that’s what I support.”
