Rookie safety Tykee Smith will return to action after missing a game due to a concussion when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers face the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night, and his veteran teammate Antoine Winfield Jr. will avoid a miss due to a foot injury .

While the Buccaneers’ secondary received good news on Monday night, the team’s receiving corps continues to be hit hard by injuries. Mike Evans will miss his second straight game with a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 7 against Baltimore, and Chris Godwin is already on injured reserve. Rookie wideout Jared McMillan is also inactive Monday night after suffering a hamstring injury at the end of the week of practice.

Rookie running back Bucky Irving and veteran wide receiver Sterling Shepard were also listed as questionable on Saturday’s injury report, but both are active for Monday’s game.

The Buccaneers and Chiefs submitted their inactive lists at 6:45 p.m. ET on Monday, 90 minutes before the scheduled kickoff of their Week 9 game at Arrowhead Stadium. After signing wide receiver Marquez Callaway and linebacker Vi Jones from the practice squad earlier in the afternoon, the Buccaneers had 55 players available and had to name seven inactive players to get to the gameday limit of 48.
