More rain on Sunday and Monday

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Meteorologist Peyton Sanders says more rain is on the way for Sunday and Monday.

Rain and thunderstorms over eastern Kansas will move further east this evening. There will be a break in the rain for a while this evening before more rain and thunderstorm activity moves into eastern Kansas later tonight.

Sunday morning will be dry across much of the state, but eastern Kansas will see more rain and thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening. Additionally, a few isolated storms could form over western Kansas toward the end of the day.

Southerly winds will be gusty across most of the state Sunday afternoon, with gusts up to 30 mph at times. Temperatures will be warmer and highs will be around 70 degrees.

The latest round of rain will arrive on Monday, with rain and thunderstorms expected across much of the state during the morning. Rain will continue across western and northern Kansas into the afternoon before activity ends Monday evening.

Additional rain amounts from tonight through Monday will range from 1 to 2 inches over central and eastern Kansas, while western Kansas will likely see less than 1 inch of total rain.
