UPDATE: Fortnite developer Epic Games expects the server downtime to last seven hours.

According to estimates posted on Epic Games’ server status website, Fortnite maintenance will run from 6am GMT to 1pm GMT UK time.

However, it’s worth noting that Epic posted something similar at the start of the previous season, only with maintenance ending much earlier.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed that we get a similar result today, because seven hours of downtime is a lot even by Fortnite standards.

Meanwhile, Fortnite insider Shiina posted a video introducing the Chapter 2 Remix Battle Pass, which you can watch below.

ORIGINAL: Fortnite fans are counting down to the start of Chapter 2 Remix, which brings everything back to the old school.

The Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix was preceded by an in-game concert featuring artists like Ice Spice and Snoop Dogg. The season will continue the musical theme when it kicks off Saturday morning.

In fact, Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix will release on November 2nd on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android and PC.

Unfortunately, however, fans will only be able to start playing after a server downtime, which begins at 6am GMT UK time.

The news was confirmed by Epic Games on X (formerly Twitter): “It’s time to hit the rewind button!

“Downtime for v32.00 begins at 2 a.m. ET, with matchmaking ending shortly before.”

As you can see from the tweet, Fortnite will go completely offline at 6:00 a.m. GMT, while matchmaking will be disabled around 5:30 a.m. GMT.

Since the downtime marks the start of a new season and map (see below), it is expected to run longer than usual. This means Fortnite could potentially be offline until around 10-11am GMT.

Daily Express will update this article once the game is back online.

In a follow-up tweet, Epic also warned fans that the Chapter 2 download will be larger than usual. As a reminder, you must download and install the update before you can log in again.

“Caution: Game update v32.00 will be a larger download compared to previous updates,” Epic confirms.

As for the season itself, Chapter 2 Remix reintroduces the map from Chapter 2, albeit with some major differences.

The agency’s compound is now called The Doggpound, described as the new home base for Snoop’s company.

Starting November 2nd, players can earn Snoop’s Drum Gun Mythic, unlock the LBC ’93 Dogg Outfit by picking up the Music Pass, and purchase the Snoop Dogg Outfit in the Shop.

The Chapter 2 remix roadmap continues on November 7th when Eminem Mom’s Spaghetti Restaurant arrives in the Grotto Cave. In addition to the Rap Boy Reloaded outfit in the item shop, the Mythic RG Minigun will also come into play.

Week 3 introduces Ice Spice to the game. Shark Island is transformed into Ice Isle, which is described as a “neon-lit, 2000-filled, abandoned shopping center.”

Players can also grab the Ice Spice Grappler and Ice Spice Mythic Rifle, as well as the Ice Spice Outfit and Rap Princess Ice Spice Outfit, both of which are said to contain Benny the Jeweler’s Princess Necklace.

Finally, as you can see at the very end of the remix trailer, Chapter 2 concludes with the addition of Juice WRLD in Week 4 on November 21st.

These include landmark WRLD Point, cel-shaded outfit Slayer Juice WRLD and the live event Remix: The Finale on November 30th.

The outfit will be given away for free at the end of the season. Epic explains more: “To honor Juice’s legacy and love for Fortnite, all players who log in between 1 a.m. ET (6 a.m. GMT) on November 30th and 1 a.m. ET (6 a.m. GMT) on December 1st will receive: the cel-shaded Slayer Juice WRLD outfit.”

Elsewhere, Epic Games has announced plans to introduce new cosmetics to Fortnite during Chapter 2.

Starting November 12th, players will be able to purchase Kicks (shoes) in the Item Shop and Remix Pass.

The initial Kicks range includes Nike and Jordan-branded shoes, as well as original Fortnite designs. The first pair of Jordans will unlock in the Remix Pass on November 12th.

Speaking of the Remix Battle Pass, the 70 unlockable items include the Meowscles+Midas Outfit, Female Guff, 8-Ball Remix, Female Chaos Agent, and TNTina Remix.
