FBI searches the home of Mica Miller’s husband John-Paul Miller | Myrtle Beach News

MYRTLE BEACH – The FBI on Nov. 1 searched the home of John-Paul “JP” Miller, the Myrtle Beach pastor who made international headlines after the suicide of his wife Mica earlier this year, his attorney confirmed.

Russell Long, one of Miller’s attorneys, confirmed that the FBI executed a search warrant at Miller’s home on Coldwater Circle in Myrtle Beach. But when asked what FBI agents were looking for, Long said only that they were “fishing.”

“There was no affidavit attached to the search warrant; So I have no idea what it’s related to,” Long said.

A spokesman for the FBI’s Columbia office could not be reached for comment. No documents are yet available for the search.

Shortly before noon, Dennis Blair was at his home with his daughter, watching videos from their last evening in Murrells Inlet. As Blair let his dog out, he heard what sounded like a loudspeaker crackling.

Thinking it might be the video, he asked his daughter to turn down the volume. The noise continued.

“I came outside and that was the first sound of ‘This is the FBI,'” he said.

Blair said the FBI then announced it would execute a search warrant at his neighbor’s home.

Blair rushed outside to grab his dog. He saw agents in Miller’s driveway and lights. He said the FBI agents told him to put his dog back inside.

“I thought, ‘This is crazy,'” he said.

Miller wasn’t home when the FBI arrived, Blair said. He has lived in the home since 2010 and said he has never had any major problems with Miller. Blair was shocked by everything that has happened in the last few months.

Around 1:30 p.m. around 20 demonstrators had gathered opposite the pastor’s house.

Some wore purple #justiceformica shirts. One held a poster with Mica’s photo that read, “Your voice is powerful.” Others recorded the scene on cellphones, sitting cross-legged amid jack-o’-lanterns and ghost lawn decorations.
