Victoria Beckham’s 300 calorie muscle health breakfast that she eats every day

From baking birthday cakes out of fruit to her love of lean proteins and leafy greens, Victoria Beckham is famous for her strict – and super-healthy – daily diet.

Husband David Beckham previously confirmed that the 50-year-old Spice Girls star eats the same meal every night – a plate of grilled fish and steamed vegetables – and rarely deviates from her favorite dish.

And it seems Victoria is just as adventurous with her breakfast. Her best friend Eva Longoria revealed this in a new interview MailOnline that VB conjures up protein with avocado every morning.

Eva said: “She’s actually easy going because we eat the same breakfast. We both love egg whites and avocado. When we’re together… she makes a great egg white and avocado.”

“She definitely eats steamed fish for dinner. Steamed fish, steamed vegetables. She is simple. Actually it’s the opposite. It’s actually easy, not difficult.”

A whole avocado has about 240 calories and is packed with monounsaturated fat, also known as “good” fat.

Assuming Victoria eats the whites of two or three eggs, that would be about 60 calories, for a total of 300 calories for her breakfast. But is it enough for the fitness-loving star?

Nutritionists rate VB’s daily breakfast

Sonia Khan, senior pharmacist and nutritionist at FeelGut.co.uk, explains why Victoria may be ditching egg yolks. “An egg yolk contains about 55 calories and 5 grams of fat, while an egg white only has about 17 calories and no fat. Using only egg whites keeps the protein content high while cutting calories and fat, which is definitely helpful for those on a reduced-calorie or low-fat diet, she says.

“Protein is high in protein and low in fat, which supports muscle health and keeps you full without adding excessive calories. Avocado adds healthy fats and fiber, promotes heart health and stabilizes blood sugar levels, helping to maintain energy throughout the morning. Together, “They provide a balanced combination of protein, healthy fats and essential nutrients – ideal for a nutritious start to the day,” she concludes.

Jenna Hope, registered dietitian and author of This is how you stay healthyHowever, Victoria says it could definitely do with adding more complex carbohydrates to her breakfast.

She explains: “Victoria Beckham’s breakfast is not nutritionally complete as it lacks a source of complex carbohydrates, which are essential to support energy production. Additionally, eliminating egg yolks removes important nutrients like choline and vitamin D, both of which are essential for supporting cognitive function and mood.

Jenna also suggests varying the vegetables and adding a pinch of seeds for an optimally balanced breakfast. “Although avocados are a rich source of healthy fats and magnesium, it is important to try to include more vegetables or additional plant-based foods in the diet to support diversity. Victoria would benefit from incorporating mushrooms, peppers or spinach into her morning breakfast, along with… Sprinkle seeds on top for extra protein, zinc and healthy fats.

Nutritionist and Compex ambassador Tina Lond-Caulk, who founded the Eat WellFeel Great Schools nutrition program, agrees that removing the yolk is detrimental to the overall nutritional value of the meal. “Protein and avocado make a nutrient-dense, low-calorie breakfast, but alone they lack the full spectrum of nutrients that a balanced morning meal ideally provides,” she tells us.

“Egg white is an excellent source of high-quality protein and promotes muscle maintenance and a feeling of satiety. However, they lack the nutritional richness of the egg yolk, which contains important vitamins such as choline and omega-3 fats. These nutrients are critical for brain health, as choline plays a direct role in the production of neurotransmitters and influences memory and cognitive function, and omega-3 fatty acids support cellular health and reduce inflammation.”

Tina also recommends adding complex carbohydrates like whole grain toast to support metabolic health. She says: “Avocado adds beneficial monounsaturated fats, antioxidants and fiber, promotes heart health and provides stable energy. However, despite its fiber content, this meal lacks complex carbohydrates. These include whole grains such as oats, quinoa or whole grain toast. A variety of fiber-rich vegetables can provide a more well-rounded nutrient profile. There is evidence that fiber, particularly from diverse sources, is also essential for gut health, weight management and digestion in the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which play an anti-inflammatory role and support metabolic health.”

If Posh Spice were to implement these changes, she would certainly reap the benefits from her early morning workouts, which she does in the basement gym of her £31million Holland Park home.

Gut Healthy Avocado and Egg Breakfast Bowl Recipe from The Nutrition Guru

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice whole wheat or sprouted toast (or ½ cup cooked mixed quinoa)
  • 1 large organic egg
  • ¼ avocado, sliced
  • 1-2 tablespoons kimchi or sauerkraut (fermented vegetables)
  • 2 tablespoons live, whole Greek yogurt
  • A handful of leafy greens (like spinach or arugula)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional, such as chives or parsley) for garnish
  • A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the base: Toast the whole-wheat bread or cook quinoa for a high-fiber base.
  2. Boil the egg: Poach the egg or soft-boil it, depending on your preference. Aim for a runny yolk for maximum flavor and nutrients.
  3. Assemble the bowl: Place toast or quinoa in the bottom of a bowl. Arrange the leafy greens and avocado slices next to the base. Add the boiled egg on top and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  4. Add probiotics: Add some kimchi or sauerkraut on the side for a spicy, gut-healthy kick.
  5. Finally, add yogurt: Add a dollop of live whole yogurt for creaminess and extra probiotics.
  6. Garnish: Sprinkle with fresh herbs and drizzle with a little olive oil if desired. Enjoy this nutrient-dense bowl for a vibrant, gut-friendly breakfast that supports digestion, energy, and brain health throughout the morning!

Victoria’s alternative breakfast options

It’s all about jumpstarting their digestive system early in the morning. “Every morning I drink three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar first thing, followed by a cup of hot water and lemon and several coffees,” the star previously told Net-A-Porter.

Victoria also enjoys a healthy post-workout smoothie and likes to blend a nutritious blend of apples, kiwi, lemon, spinach, broccoli and chia seeds in her Nutribullet.

The wannabe hitmaker has previously shared a photo of her bowl of high-fiber, superfood-rich Ezekiel 4:9 granola, which is described as a “crunchy, sprouted grain granola” that promotes a healthy gut.
