A Fox News focus group of Democrats, Republicans and Independents weighed in in real time on President Biden’s recent comments that seemingly called supporters of former President Trump “garbage,” with the latter two groups having a strongly negative impression of the president’s words expressed.

The groups recently took part in a voting test while observing Biden’s controversial statements he made during a virtual Harris campaign call with Latino voters on Tuesday night. The test allowed viewers to enter their reactions while watching the moment unfold in real time. These reactions were displayed as a moving line on a graph that indicated whether they reacted positively, neutrally or negatively to Biden’s words as he spoke them.

The test found that while Democratic participants were somewhat positive about Biden’s anti-Trump comments – including when he appeared to call Trump supporters “trash” – Republicans and independents reacted strongly negatively when he made them.

Although reactions from Republican observers appeared to be the most negative, with the red line indicating that they slipped well below the neutral line for the majority of Biden’s 49-second statement, the yellow line representing independents also fell for the Much of the opinion deep into the negative reaction clip too.

While the yellow line was never as strongly negative as the red line, it fell significantly from neutral when Biden declared that Trump “doesn’t care about the Latino community” and that he is a “failed businessman.”

The Independent line remained low until it rose briefly (although still negative) when Biden mentioned that Trump wanted to eliminate the “birthright to citizenship.”

As Biden appeared to say, “The only trash I see floating out there is his supporters,” the yellow line again experienced a significant decline, approaching the Republican reaction line, which had reached its lowest point.

Meanwhile, the blue Democratic line represented the opposite reaction among both independents and Republicans, moving well above the neutral reaction line and gradually rising as Biden made the “garbage” remarks.

The White House released a transcript of Biden’s remarks on Wednesday.

The official White House transcript said: “The only garbage I see floating out there is that of his supporters – his – his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and un-American.”

White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates sought to clarify Biden’s comments, saying: “The president called the hateful rhetoric at the Madison Square Garden rally ‘garbage.’
