Liberal late-night hosts either downplayed or avoided President Biden’s controversial “garbage” remark about Trump supporters after they panned the controversial Puerto Rico joke made at former President Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden made headlines.

On Monday, “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert praised the “massive impact” of insult comedian Tony Hinchliffe’s joke that called Puerto Rico a “floating island of trash,” pointing to the “470,000” Puerto Rican voters who live in Pennsylvania.

“And you’re not going to win over half a million people by insulting their homeland,” Colbert exclaimed.

Colbert continued to criticize Trump for not taking any responsibility for Hinchcliffe’s joke.

Meanwhile, “Late Night” host Seth Meyers, after blasting Trump over the Puerto Rico mistake on Monday, took a quick dig at Biden on Wednesday night but spent more time taking issue with Trump’s attempts to distance himself from the joke analyze.
