The Dodgers defeated the Yankees in the first “Dream Match” in three years.

The Dodgers won 6-3 at Dodger Stadium on the 26th (Korean time), 2-2 thanks to Freddie Freeman’s come-from-behind grand slam in the bottom of the 10th inning of overtime.

In the best-of-seven postseason series in history, the team that won the first game won the series 125 out of 193 times, with a probability of 64.8%. Additionally, the team that won Game 1 at home in the 2-3-2 postseason series went 68 of 101, or 67.3%, to win the series. The Yankees’ historical probability of winning the World Series is about 65%.

The good pitching of both teams’ starting pitchers dominated until the middle. Dodgers starter Jack Fleherty allowed five hits, one walk, six strikeouts and two runs in five ⅓ innings, and Yankees starter Gerrit Cole allowed four hits, four strikeouts and one run in six innings.

The Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani hit a double in the eighth inning after being hitless, but was left with a foul fly in the tenth inning of overtime. One hit and one run off five hits. The Yankees’ Aaron Judge had one hit in five at-bats, but was sluggish with one hit in five at-bats and struck out three times.

The game, which had been a close match between the team’s two starters until the fourth inning, changed dramatically when the score exploded past the middle.

After one out in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Dodgers created a chance by hitting Kikes 97.2 miles outside of Cole’s fastball, falling to right fielder Soto and hitting a triple that flew against the fence. Smith then hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring Kike home. Soto’s throw home went two ways, but Kike’s left hand hit the house head first.

However, the Yankees turned the tables early in the following sixth inning. Stanton’s bat exploded after Judge struck after a heavy hit from Soto. In 1B2S, Fleherty pulled a 79.4-mile knuckle curve toward his fourth pitch and connected with a two-run home run that passed inside the left foul pole to turn the tide to 2-1. Stanton’s 6th home run of the postseason with an angle of 35 degrees, a bat speed of 116.6 miles and a distance of 412 feet.

The Dodgers staged a fierce comeback in the second half of the game, but were barely able to make up the score. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Edman hit a double down the right field line to gain scoring position. Ohtani’s ground ball to shortstop made it to third base with one out. However, Betts’ batted ball caught third baseman Chizom Jr. and Freeman hit a fly ball to right field to end the inning.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, trailing 2-1, Teosca Cole hit hard, retired, and Max Muncy got on base after being hit by changed pitcher Clay Holmes’ ball, but after Kike After making a sacrifice, he went in in front of the catcher, Kike hit a fly ball to shortstop and Gavin Lux hit a ground ball to first base without scoring again.

However, the Dodgers, who were beginning to trail, brought the game to first when Ohtani delivered a springboard double in the bottom of the eighth inning. Ohtani subbed 87.1 miles in the middle of opposing right-hander Tommy Kahnle’s second pitch, hitting a double that hit the top of the right-field fence and advancing to third base on opposing shortstop Volpi’s defensive error. The ball, which traveled at a launch angle of 19 degrees and 113.9 miles (183 kilometers), hit the top of the fence over Soto’s head. If he had flown two feet more at a distance of 378 feet, he would have hit a home run.

Betts then hit a rich sacrifice fly behind midfield to bring in Ohtani and tie the game at 2-2.

The Yankees capitalized on the opportunity with Torres’ double to left center after two outs in the top of the ninth inning. The hit was intercepted by a male fan who extended his glove over the left-center fence, and the double was recognized by a judge’s verdict. Soto intentionally got four pitches to go to first and second base, and he missed the opportunity, hitting a shortstop fly to Blake Trinen, a pitcher whose jersey was changed.

The game, which went into overtime, was decided in the 10th inning.

After one out in the top of the 10th inning, the Yankees scored on Chisom Jr.’s right-handed hit and stolen base. After Anthony Rizzo’s intentional four pitches, Chizome Jr. stole third base on Anthony Volpi’s at-bat, got one out and had runners on first and third. Then, while Edman caught Volpi’s ground ball and hesitated to throw it to second base to catch the first baseman, Chisom Jr. dug into the groove and led 3-2.

After one out in the bottom of the 10th inning, the Dodgers retired with a foul flight from left field to left-hander Nestor Cortes, which Ohtani converted after Lux’s walk and Edman’s infield hit, and Freeman hit a grand slam over right-center Betts’ intentional four pitches led to a dramatic comeback victory.
