Crews on scene at large commercial fire in Fredericktown, Missouri; Evacuations ordered

FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. (KFVS) – Crews are on scene of a large commercial fire Wednesday afternoon, October 30th.

According to Sgt. Clark Parrott, the Missouri State Highway Patrol is on the scene of a fire at Critical Mineral Recovery, a lithium-ion battery processing plant, in the 800 block of Highway OO in Fredericktown to assist with traffic control.

He said he had not heard any reports of injuries at this time.

Madison County 911 posted on Facebook that everyone north and northwest of Village Creek Road and Madison 217 should be evacuated immediately, the sheriff’s office said.

According to Fredericktown R-1 Schools, campuses will remain closed until further notice due to a “fire at a battery facility.”

School leaders said parents and guardians could pick up students early and it would not count toward their attendance.
