Olivia Rodrigo opens up about Stage Fall hospital visit on ‘The Tonight Show’

The musician revealed that she went to the hospital to make sure she didn’t have a concussion, ultimately making a connection between her nurse and her late grandfather

For Olivia Rodrigo, everything happens for a reason – even if it means taking a brutal jump into an open hole on stage on your world tour. Earlier this month, the musician fell through a trapdoor on stage during her concert in Melbourne, Australia. “It was actually a beautiful thing and looking back, I’m really glad it happened,” she said. “That was my next stop – Australia after the Philippines. And the nurse happened to be a Filipino man with the same name as my grandfather who just passed away a few months ago. I thought, wow, he was looking out for me and making sure I didn’t get hurt. I’m really glad it happened.”

Rodrigo’s performance at the Philippine Arena in Manila was the biggest of her career, but also the most meaningful.
