INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Taylor Swift and her fans will encounter detours on the way to and from her upcoming concerts at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Top suggestions from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department: Plan ahead. Consider taking a bus or using rideshare services to avoid parking congestion.

IMPD SWAT Officer Chuck Deblaso said Friday, “This is an event city. This is huge. Make no mistake, there will be a lot of people in a small space. There could be up to 200,000 people.”

IMPD announced a detailed list of road closures Nov. 1-4, as well as a map with a drop-off location, a rideshare pickup location and “parent pick-up locations.” A press release from IMPD states, “With hundreds of thousands of fans expected in Swift City, these closures are intended to ensure the safety of concertgoers and community members.”

Police also urged Swifties in the statement to “keep in mind that traffic and road closures may change depending on real-time conditions.”

In addition, some of the usual downtown parking lots will be closed and drivers who ignore no-parking signs risk being towed, police warned. Towed vehicles can be found at Auto Return at 323 S. Post Road, just east of downtown, where the concert is taking place.

To add to the confusion, or perhaps make the driving experience less stressful for Swifties, downtown street signs have been renamed Swift-related nicknames.

Swift’s sold-out shows, the final three in the United States as part of the Eras Tour, begin Nov. 1-3 at 7 p.m.
