Weather in Metro Detroit: Record heat possible on Tuesday and Wednesday

There will be some rain around 7am on Tuesday morning, giving us a mostly dry day. But if you get caught in a rain shower in the early hours of the morning, expect it to be heavy!

As we move through the rest of the day, things will become drier as skies change from mostly cloudy to partly cloudy.

Watch out for record-breaking heat! The forecast high is 77°, which would equal the daily record set in 1999. Tomorrow it’s flirting with the record and we’re expected to hit 78°, which would also break the 76° record set in 1999. End of October heat blast! Also, look for strong winds today with southerly speeds of 25 to 30 miles per hour!

Before Halloween, all eyes are on the chance of rain. A cold front will move through during the day, bringing chances of rain early and into the afternoon. Some areas may experience heavy rain and gusty winds at times. All indications are that most of the rain will taper off around 4:17 p.m., leaving us dry like those important trick-or-treating times. Temperatures will be in the mid to lower 60s this evening window. If we can get the rain out of here, it could be ideal trick-or-treating weather!

Towards the end of the weekend, conditions will become more autumnal again, with highs in the low and mid 50s.
