This season’s victim – or rather, one of its victims (more on that later) – was Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), the trusty stunt double to Steve Martin’s down-and-out TV PI Charles-Haden Savage. And after 10 episodes of red herrings, murder reports and romances (yes, romances), “OMITB” tied up the loose ends surrounding the Arconia — the show’s titular home — and answered questions that have been plaguing fans all season long. Not only: “Who is the murderer?” but also: “Was there more than one murderer?” and: “Was Charles the intended target?”

Here’s a breakdown of everything we learned in “OMITB” Season 4 Episode 10 titled “My Best Friend’s Wedding” – the who, what, when and why. And with some bonus bits.

Whodunnit?!

The murderer turned out to be none other than Marshall P Pope (Jin Ha), the screenwriter behind the film “Only Murders in the Building”, which is made via the podcast (in the series). But Pope is an impostor – his true identity is Rex Baileya down-and-out stuntman who Sazz took under her wing until he burned off Ron Howard’s eyebrows and became persona non grata in the stunt world.

As we learn at the end of Episode 9, the screenplay for the movie Only Murders that made Hollywood’s attraction was actually written by Sazz as a love letter to her longtime No. 1, Charles. Bailey, who fell into stunt work (literally) after failing to “make it” as a writer, stole Sazz’s script and invented a new alter ego, Marshall P. Pope, to claim the work as his own.

When Sazz learned that Bailey was selling the script under his new pseudonym, she mocked him and stated that she would never have sold the script without getting Charles’ blessing. Angry and disappointed, Sazz told Bailey that she would let Charles know what Bailey had done, thereby ruining the upstart’s career.

Unfortunately for Sazz, Bailey killed her before she could speak to Charles.

But who killed Glenn Stubbins?

Sazz may have been the first victim of season four, but she wasn’t the last. Glen Stubbins (Paul Rudd), the stunt double of season three victim Ben Glenroy (also Paul Rudd), died in the penultimate episode of season four. Pope/Bailey confessed in the season four finale that he killed Stubbins because the Irishman could have also identified the author as the stunt person Sazz told one of the Arconia’s “Westies,” Helga (Alexandra Templer), that she was would mean her death.

What happened to Marshall P. Pope/Rex Bailey?

Pope/Bailey is shot by none other than season one killer Jan Bellows (Amy Ryan), who was also with Charles and Sazz.

Earlier in the season, Jan escaped from prison (where she was serving a sentence for the murder of season one victim Tim Kono) and broke into Charles’ apartment, scaring the hell out of Charles in the process. Although it appeared that Jan fled the Arconia shortly afterwards, it turned out that she never left the Arconia. She hid in Charles’s dressing room and the hidden corridors of the Arconia, waiting for the right time to take revenge on the man who killed her former lover.

Was Charles the intended target?

No. Season 4 used the connection between Charles and Sazz to distract viewers from the killer’s trail. Eventually, Sazz, who always dresses exactly like Charles, was found murdered in Charles’ apartment. But in the end, this turned out to be a diversionary tactic, as Sazz was the killer’s intended victim.

Ok, but what about Oliver and Loretta’s wedding?

Despite Oliver’s panic, his and Loretta’s wedding went smoothly. Loretta didn’t die and after a short honeymoon at Arconia, Oliver said goodbye to her as she left for New Zealand, where her TV show is currently being filmed. Oliver promised Loretta that he would move to New Zealand in a few weeks, even if it meant leaving his podcast friends behind.

Will there be a season 5?

Yes, “OMITB” has already been picked up for a fifth season.

Do we know the identity of the season 5 victim?

The victim at the center of the fifth season of “OMITB” is none other than the lovable Lester, the Arconia’s doorman, played by Teddy Coluca. Just when Charles, Oliver and Mabel think they’ve solved one murder without encountering another, they discover Lester’s blood-soaked body in the well at the center of the Arconia courtyard – and that’s not just where Oliver and Loretta are tied the knot the day before, but also where Lester said yes.

Where can I watch the season 4 finale of “OMITB”?
