SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – A winter storm is bringing snow to all of Utah’s mountains as well as the Wasatch Back and southwestern Wyoming, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm, expected to begin Monday evening, Oct. 28, will continue through Wednesday, according to the NWS, although snowfall is expected to taper off Tuesday evening.

“There will be a drizzle of snow Tuesday evening and lasting through Wednesday,” the National Weather Service reports.

The following snow accumulations can be expected locally:

• The mountains in the Ogden area can be up to 12 inches high.

• Upper cottonwoods can grow up to 16″.

• Park City and southern Uinta County can expect up to 8″.

• The Tushars and ridgeline east of Fillmore can expect up to 12 inches.

According to the NWS, snow will begin falling in northern Utah Monday evening before moving south overnight. Be prepared for traction limitations and check for them Road conditions before the trip.

Additionally, gusty southwest winds will blow across areas of southwest Utah throughout the day on Monday. The NWS said this was “particularly true for areas near Cedar City and Milford.”

Wind gusts, which the NWS says will reach nearly 50 mph, will ease Monday evening.
