The offense had some very good highlights that night, but also a lot of significant low points.

Starting with good rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. looked phenomenal all season, and in Week 8 he totaled 150 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 22 touchdowns. Rookie of the Year candidate Malik Nabers also had a solid game as he finished the game with seven catches for 73 yards. Finally, Darius Slayton had 108 yards on four receptions.

With the help of big plays from these three players, the Giants were able to gain a total of 394 yards of offense but only one touchdown.

This was due to a combination of three factors, none of which are new.

The first is premature falls. Nabers had two dropped balls that could have led to longer drives, while other players also had a few drops.

Second, Jones couldn’t make a big play when needed. He often knocked over receivers at crucial moments in the game and fumbled in the red zone late in the fourth quarter. Also on the final offensive drive of the game, the quarterback badly missed a pass, resulting in an interception.

Finally, the offensive line has struggled to protect the quarterback for years, and that problem was exacerbated by the injury to Andrew Thomas. Jones was sacked four times and hit 12 times during the night.
