My analysis

The Nashville Predators’ 0-5 start to the season was cause for concern. However, after three straight wins and an average of 3.7 goals scored per game over that period, the group is starting to sort things out.

Star striker Filip Forsberg scored in two of those three games and his impact is just beginning. He leads the team in goals, points and shots on goal.

Forsberg skates on the front line alongside Ryan O’Reilly and Gustav Nyquist, a group that ranks fourth among the 34 lines that have played at least 60 minutes in xGF/60 this season. These 34 lines include the grouping of Jake Guentzel, Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov from the Tampa Bay Lightning.

They’re tasked with competing against Nashville’s first line, which is good news for Forsberg as the Guentzel-Point-Kucherov line ranks 30th among those 34 lines in xGA/60.
