Obama calls Trump ‘would-be king’ at Harris event

At a town hall hosted by NewsNation outside Detroit, Michigan, vice presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance answered questions from undecided voters in the crowd about what a second Trump administration would like to address and accomplish.

In an unexpected moment, former President Donald Trump called the town hall and asked Vance, “How brilliant is Donald J. Trump?”

“These are supposed to be undecided voters,” Vance joked. I would hope that I, of all people, have your vote.”

“Sir, you are of course very brilliant and we both agree that it is important to have very smart people leading our government,” Vance said.

Trump also asked Vance how brilliant Vice President Kamala Harris was, prompting Vance to say that was “a tough question.”

“Don’t say it,” Trump said. “We don’t need anything else. We’re fine.”

Trump praised Vance, saying he was doing a “fantastic job” and couldn’t be happier with him.

Vance was asked three times during the evening what he would do if he became president in the next four years if something happened to Trump.

Vance quickly turned back to Trump, saying he was “as healthy as an ox” and would be able to do this
serve a full term if elected again to the White House.

“There’s no chance he won’t be able to serve a full four-year term. I think he will do it. He’s going to do it with a lot of energy,” Vance said.

“Just look at the campaign schedule that Donald Trump has followed compared to his Democratic opponents. For every event that Kamala Harris has done, he does about three public events,” Vance added.
