Matthew Perry’s family criticizes drug supplier and doctor before trial: ‘You’re going down, baby’

A year after Matthew Perry’s sudden and tragic death, his family sent a very direct message to the two people accused of supplying the late actor with ketamine before his death: “You’re going down, baby.”

In an exclusive interview with The Today Show, Perry’s mother Suzanne Morrison, stepfather Keith Morrison and three younger sisters spoke with Savannah Guthrie about Perry’s life and legacy and said they hope to feel a sense of justice now that the official trial date has been set is scheduled for March 2025.

“I’m excited,” Perry’s mother said of the upcoming spring trial.

“What I hope, and I think the authorities who took part in this hope, is that people who have made it their mission to supply people with drugs that kill them will now be put on notice,” Perrys said Stepfather – a correspondent for Dateline NBC – added. “It doesn’t matter what your professional qualifications are, you’re going to sink, baby.”

Perry’s death has led to a federal drug investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration. This led to the arrest of five people in August, including Perry’s assistant, doctors and Jasveen Sangha, nicknamed the “Ketamine Queen.” Sangha and one of Perry’s doctors face decades in prison if convicted.

Last year, on October 28, 2023, Perry died from complications of ketamine after being found in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home. Officials ruled his death an accident, but drowning, coronary heart disease and the effects of an opioid treatment medication also contributed.
