Bucks vs. Nets preview, start time, TV schedule and injury report

The Milwaukee Bucks travel east to take on the Brooklyn Nets in the third game of the season. The Bucks won their three games against the Nets last season (gasp).

Where we are

Win some, lose some. The Sixers concluded that two of their stars were injured and the Bulls decided to take their accuracy north, which largely explains the results. It’s still early, but I’m optimistic about the way Dame, the new people and the old bench have started the season. The minutes for the latter two are at the expense of minutes for any young man not named AJ Green, but (1) the rest of them are green too, (2) what did we expect from Doc and (3) it’s harder Swap Bobby and Pat when they ride the pine tree.

The Nets have lost to the Hawks and Magic in previously competitive games. The first line of a recent season preview titled “Rev up the tank” says it all (though I encourage reading the whole thing). Still, the Nets post Faithful NUMBERS in the comments sections at NetsDaily; typical masochistic New Yorkers.

Injury report

For the Bucks, Khris is left out. Giannis is again listed as likely to have right patellar tendonitis. AJ Green shows up with a sprained right big toe. (TIL: The big toe is the big toe.)

Meanwhile, Bojan Bogdanovic (recovering from a left foot injury), Day’Ron Sharpe (left hamstring strain) and Trendon Watford (also left hamstring strain – must be contagious) are out for the Nets.

Player to keep an eye on

AJ Green scored peanuts against the Sixers, even in parts of the first quarter, but he saw more action in a loss to the Bulls. He’s the growth candidate among the guys in Doc’s rotation, so we’re hoping he continues to see (limited) minutes in Brooklyn.
