Houston Texans star wide receiver Stefon Diggs lies on the ground after suffering what appears to be a non-contact knee injury. The receiver fell to the ground and grabbed his knee, which could result in significant injury.

Diggs was running a route and appeared to make a move that might have caused something to his right knee. He immediately fell to the ground and grabbed his injured leg.

After Diggs stepped onto the field, the training staff immediately ran to tend to him. The good news is that Diggs appeared to be able to walk away under his own power, but this type of non-contact knee injury is always concerning.

It’s likely that Diggs will be ruled out for the rest of the game so that the knee problem he just suffered doesn’t worsen. Best case scenario, he just injured his knee and could return at some point later in the game. However, he could also have suffered a sprain.

This is just speculation, but if Diggs did indeed suffer a sprain, he would likely be out for a few weeks while he heals.

Diggs now heads to the locker room where he will likely undergo further testing for the injury he just sustained. The good news is that he gets out of it on his own.

Had the training staff had to help him off the field or had the car come out, there certainly would have been greater concern for Diggs. At the moment it looks like the injury may not be as serious as initially thought when he collapsed on the pitch.

Diggs was a wonderful receiver for CJ Stroud and the Texans. In seven games, the star receiver has rushed for 415 yards and three touchdowns.

Diggs joined a strong offense that already included Tank Dell and Xavier Hutchinson as well as running back Joe Mixon.

The Texans were one of the biggest surprises of 2023 as they secured 10 wins and soundly defeated the Cleveland Browns in the wild card round of the 2023 playoffs. They lost to the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round, but established themselves as a strong and dynamic team under DeMeco Ryans.

The Texans continued the same excitement in 2024, posting a 5-2 record that season. They want to get their sixth win of the season, but will likely have to do it without Diggs.
