Penn State quarterback Drew Allar overcame a knee injury in the Wisconsin game

Penn State quarterback Drew Allar left the Nittany Lions’ Week 9 game against the Wisconsin Badgers with an injury. Backup Beau Pribula is on Penn State’s first drive of the second half.

Allar was injured while taking a sack during Penn State’s final drive of the first half. He entered the locker room before halftime ended and emerged after the break with a brace on his left knee.

The star quarterback completed warm-ups in the second half to test the injury. He visibly expressed frustration when he realized he couldn’t return.

The star quarterback was 14 of 18 passing for 148 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game. Penn State trailed 10-7 at halftime after Wisconsin completed a touchdown drive in the closing moments of the first half.

This will be Pribula’s sixth game action of the season replacing Allar. He is 7 of 10 passing for 102 yards, two touchdowns and an interception during those first five appearances, also having 15 carries for 105 rushing yards and a touchdown. Most of his actions took place in the closing moments of crucial victories.

Penn State must now overcome a second-half deficit without its star quarterback under center. There are no official updates on his status, although everything points to Pribula taking over for the rest of the game.

Wisconsin currently leads 10-7 with 11:30 remaining in the third quarter.
