HUSKERS first half recap – Hey, we’re in: OHIO ST 14 NEBRASKA 6

Let’s get straight to the point: the B1G referees have shown themselves to be as incompetent and corrupt as ever and were driven home by an unforgivable defeat when Emmett Johnson easily scored on 2nd and 2nd with less than two minutes left in the Ohio State territory ran for the first time.

Nebraska then mismanaged the clock and a very poor offensive PI was called for safety. But maligned kicker John Hohl, who already had a 39-yarder to his name, beat Satterfield and the B1G zebra dirt by firing a 54-yarder to put the Huskers within touching distance, 14-6 hold.

The performance has turned 180 degrees since last week’s 56-7 debacle in Bloomington, highlighted by the Blackshirts coming out ready to fight. Yes, they allowed two bombs, including a 60-yarder, to sensational Buckeye star Jeremiah Smith – but we won’t be the only ones watching the big numbers on his jersey running away from defenders this season.

Former K-State Wildcat Will Howard is 9-9 for 167 yards and two touchdowns – is a 329.2 QB rating good? But he was also constantly put under pressure and once fired.

Offensively, most of the online heat was focused on Huskers OC Marcus Satterfield and his series of unblocked screen passes. Raiola is 10-14 for 43 yards and seems focused on not taking advantage of opportunities in an offense, especially when the ball is in the opponent’s territory. They won the battle of possession, but that can happen if the opponent scores 100 yards and both touchdowns in two plays.

The defense lets everything go. Can the offense get into the fight in the second half?

And no, I don’t talk to the players.
