Premier League LIVE: Leicester City vs Nottingham Forest – live text commentary and score updates

Chris Wood’s derby double took Nottingham Forest to fifth place in the Premier League after a comfortable win at Leicester.

The striker took advantage of two second-half errors to punish his former club and take his league goal tally to seven this season.

Ryan Yates had given Forest the lead in the 16th minute, but Jamie Vardy equalized shortly afterwards.

But the visitors recovered and Wood’s masterful finishing ensured they lost just one of their first nine games.

Foxes boss Steve Cooper suffered defeat against his old club – the first time he had faced them since his sacking last December – and watched in frustration as Leicester were the architects of their own downfall and for every mistake they made , was punished.

Initially, Facundo Buonanotte opted to run out of defense with the ball rather than clear up and was robbed by Callum Hudson-Odoi on the edge of the penalty area.

Elliot Anderson drove into the box and James Justin could only half clear his cross, which Yates found into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

The lead only lasted seven minutes, however, as Harry Winks came into play on the left and Vardy darted between Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic to palm in the midfielder’s cross from six yards.

Instead of reassuring Leicester, the equalizer fired Forest up and Mads Hermansen brilliantly parried Nicolas Dominguez from point-blank range. The Danish goalkeeper also parried Hudson-Odoi’s shot before the break.

Forest then took full control as they capitalized on further mistakes from the hosts. Wood made it 2-1 just two minutes into the second half when Leicester lost possession and Caleb Okoli rolled over to deftly find the corner with a low shot.

Hudson-Odoi then hit the post but things got worse for the Foxes on the hour mark when Wout Faes botched visiting goalkeeper Matz Sels’ long free throw and Wood nodded over Hermansen.

Only a woeful miss from Yates denied Forest a late fourth place.

More to follow.
