Think PATTERN will there be an album about love? Well, maybe you’re wrong.

In a recent interview with NYLON, Kelsea Ballerini cleared up any misconceptions some might have about her upcoming album and shared why it’s not about romance.

“That’s not it not a love record. But I have the feeling, even with “Two things” Everyone’s like, “Wait, who is this about?” And I’m like, ‘Guys, this is a love song.’ It’s all about the nuances of love,” Kelsea tells the magazine.

“It’s about a part of love that you have to address before you really delve deeper into it. And that, to me, is the most appealing part of love,” she explains.

Personally, of course, Kelsea continues to appreciate her actor boyfriend, Chase Stokes, and the progress they have made as a couple.

“I’m at a point in my relationship where we’re moving as a team as one, but we got there because we really had to figure it out together, like we all did for two years,” she says. “So I’m really proud to have written about it and to have been supported.”
