More than 40 people in Jessup hospitalized with symptoms of food poisoning

More than 40 people were hospitalized Monday with symptoms of food poisoning after reportedly eating the same food Monday afternoon in Jessup.

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) — More than 40 people were hospitalized with symptoms Monday after reportedly eating the same food in Jessup Monday afternoon.

Crews responded to a distributor in the 7700 block of Chesapeake Bay Court around 3:45 p.m. Officers did not say which business they responded to or what was consumed.

At least 46 people are under investigation, according to Howard County Fire & EMS. According to Howard County officials, all patients are not critical at this time.

“The Health Department is working with partners to investigate the cause of the incident, which we believe is currently an isolated incident. As we have more information, we will share it,” the Howard County Health Department said in a statement.

The Maryland Department of Health is also investigating the incident, according to a spokesperson.
