A lucky person in Georgia won the $450 million-plus Powerball jackpot after her ticket matched all the numbers drawn on Wednesday.

The jackpot rose to about $478 million after no one won in Monday’s drawing, but the winner can take home about $230.5 million after taxes, according to the lottery.

The last two jackpot winners won in August. A lucky player from California won a $44.3 million Powerball jackpot on August 19th. And the week before, on August 12, a player from Pennsylvania won the $213.8 million jackpot.

Wednesday’s win marks the eighth time someone has won the Powerball jackpot this year. This is also the seventh time someone in Georgia has won the jackpot.

The winning numbers were drawn just after 11pm ET on Wednesday evening, and we have the results below.

How to play the Powerball

To purchase a $2 Powerball ticket, you’ll need to visit your local supermarket, gas station or convenience store – and in a few states you can purchase tickets online.

To play, you must select a total of six numbers to mark on your ticket. Five numbers are white balls ranging from 1 to 69. The Powerball is red and one number is between 1 and 26.

If you want to increase your chances of winning, you can add a “Power Play” for $1, which increases winnings for all non-jackpot prizes. This addition can multiply winnings 2X, 3X, 4X, 5Xor 10X.

Players can also ask a cashier for a “quick pick,” in which the cashier gives you computer-generated numbers on a printed Powerball ticket.

The drawings take place on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings. If there is no jackpot winner, the cash prize increases by millions.

Where can you buy tickets?
