Road repairs continue in Goleta – edhat

Night work begins on Sunday, August 11

The City of Goleta’s road reconstruction project continues. Today, August 8, road work will be done on Hollister Avenue from Cathedral Oaks toward Ritz-Carlton Bacara and on Caroldale Lane from Camino Laguna Vista to La Patera Lane. Work will continue until 4:00 p.m.

Here’s what’s coming up next week:

On Sunday, August 11, the first phase of paving Storke Road from Hollister Avenue to the US 101 southbound ramp will begin. Work will take place during overnight hours (10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.) and will last three nights. The US 101 ramps and ramps will remain open.

The first phase of paving North Fairview Avenue from US 101 to Calle Real will begin on Wednesday, August 14. Work will take place overnight (10 p.m. – 6 a.m.) and will last two nights. The US 101 on- and off-ramps will remain open.

The project is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the city’s road network by restoring and repavement of existing pavement to prevent further damage and extend its life. Work also includes installing new striping and markings to improve visibility for drivers, as well as improving curb ramps, which will be done at a later date. Work is expected to be completed by November 2024.

During construction, residents and motorists should expect minor disruptions, including lane closures and detours. Please plan your routes accordingly and follow all traffic signs and instructions from construction workers.

The following roads are to be built as part of the 2023 road rehabilitation project:

  • Phelps Road (Pacific Oaks Road to Storke Road)
  • Hollister Avenue (right of way from Cathedral Oaks Road to the city)
  • Caroldale Place (Caroldale Lane to cul-de-sac)
  • Caroldale Lane (Camino Laguna Vista to La Patera Lane)
  • Storke Road (Hollister Avenue to US 101 ramp)
  • North Fairview Avenue (US 101 ramp to Calle Real)
