Two additional disaster recovery centers will open in our hometowns

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) – FEMA teams are working to ensure everyone affected by Hurricane Helene can apply for assistance.

There are now six disaster recovery centers open in our hometowns, with the most recent opening Friday in Christiansburg.

Another center opened Thursday in Marion.

Other locations include Dublin, Tazewell, Independence and Damascus.

These are places where you can get help applying for assistance and learn about various resources.

To date, more than $5.7 million has been approved for survivors.

The FEMA registration deadline is December 2nd.

The centers are open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

CHRISTIANSBURG: Montgomery County Government Center (755 Roanoke St., Christiansburg, Virginia)

MARION: Public Safety Administration Building (230 S. Park St., Marion, Va.)

DUBLIN: New River Valley Fairgrounds (5581 Fair Grounds Circle, Dublin, Virginia)

TAZEWELL: Tazewell County Administration Building (197 Main St., Tazewell, Va.)

DAMASCUS: Damascus Shopping Center (736 North Beaver Dam Ave., Damascus, Virginia)

INDEPENDENCE: 578 E. Main St., Suite B, Independence, Va.)
