LAURA Rutledge had a busy evening at ESPN as she filled in for a missing regular player.

The 36-year-old NFL host was working on the sidelines during the game between the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Monday.

Just a few hours earlier, she hosted NFL Live in her usual position on the network.

But Rutledge had a busy Monday as she worked double duty.

She represented lead reporter Lisa Salters.

Commentator Joe Buck revealed on the show that Salters was dealing with a personal matter.

“We look forward to their return,” Buck added.

“And we all wish Lisa and her family our best.”

Buck and Salters, along with Troy Aikman, are part of ESPN’s top broadcast team.

Rutledge stepped in for the MNF showdown, which the Bills won 23-20.

She has worked on the sidelines for the station before and is a more than capable replacement.

The 36-year-old has already been in that role twice this season while ESPN has broadcast two NFL games simultaneously.

She will most likely be back on the sidelines for another doubleheader next week.

Rutledge could potentially join either the Ravens-Bucs main team if Salters is still absent or the Chargers-Cardinals transfer.

She worked the sidelines with the Salters during last year’s playoffs.

ESPN had a reporter on each team’s sideline at these games.

Rutledge also played in a major college football game on Saturday.

She was at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas for the Red River Rivalry.

The anchor was working on ESPN’s coverage of the Texas Longhorns against their rival Oklahoma Sooners.

The former Miss Florida had a stain on her white sleeveless top and then took to social media.

Rutledge said on Instagram: “Okay guys, I just made it here.”

“By the way, I got a stain on my shirt from walking through the crowd, but it’s the Red River Rivalry, you just have to try.”

This year she also presented Masters golf coverage.
