Mark Andrews sets the Baltimore Ravens franchise record

It really looks like Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews is back.

Three-time Pro Bowler and 2019 All-Pro Andrews had an uncharacteristically slow start to the season, failing to score any touchdowns in his first five games. He had his best game of the season last week against the Washington Commanders, catching three passes for 66 yards and a touchdown, and now it looks like he’s picking up right where he left off.

In the second quarter of Monday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the seventh-year tight end scored a nine-yard touchdown to reach the end zone for the second straight game. Here’s a look at the impressive catch.

More importantly, Andrews made Ravens history with this catch. This is his 42nd receiving touchdown, passing Todd Heap for the most touchdown in franchise history. Last week he set the record.

Even though he doesn’t get the ball as often as usual, Andrews has remained patient and accepted more of a blocking role on offense while Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar shined as pass catchers. Now he gets a chance to shine in the tight end room.

Midway through the second quarter, Baltimore trailed Tampa Bay 10-7, although Marlon Humphrey barely gave them the ball back with a clutch interception.
