Olivia Nuzzi outside New York Magazine after a sexting rendezvous with RFK Jr

Olivia Nuzzi is leaving New York magazine after a spate of salacious stories surrounding the star Washington correspondent’s romantic affair with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

In the magazine’s announcement on its website, New York said an outside investigation found no evidence of bias in any of Nuzzi’s reporting during the 2024 campaign.

“Nevertheless, the magazine and Nuzzi agreed that the best path forward was to part ways,” the statement said, before calling the 31-year-old “a uniquely talented writer.”

The affair, which included a lengthy “sexting” meeting, has also landed Nuzzi in a messy legal battle with her ex-journalist Ryan Lizza.

Nuzzi filed a no-contact order against Lizza last month, claiming he hacked her devices and blackmailed her over the affair.

In later court filings, Lizza, 50, portrayed Nuzzi as a lost and heartbroken lover who was desperately trying to save their engagement after he dumped her, according to documents filed in Washington, D.C., Supreme Court.

He said he confronted Nuzzi and broke off their engagement on Aug. 17 after learning she had been dating RFK Jr., who was nearly 40 years her senior, for nearly a year, according to the filing.

Nuzzi told him that RFK Jr. wanted to “own,” “control” and “impregnate” her, the filing says.

Lizza claimed that everything he learned about the affair with Kennedy – who is married to actress Cheryl Hines – came from Nuzzi’s own tearful confessions as she tried to win him back, the filing said.

Lizza — Politico’s chief Washington correspondent, who is currently on leave from the publication’s popular and influential Playbook — denied revealing details of the relationship with her editor or the press and dismissed her allegations of hacking.

RFK Jr. disputed Lizza’s account of the relationship and Nuzzi’s attorney said the file was “filled with salacious and irrelevant allegations.”
