LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A cold front and an upper-level low pressure system will move across Nebraska on Monday, triggering showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be severe in parts of western and central Nebraska. Cooler temperatures for central and western Nebraska, but still warm and windy in eastern Nebraska. It will remain dry on Tuesday and above-average temperatures will persist. However, a cold front will bring more seasonal temperatures to the state on Wednesday.

There is a slight risk of severe weather Monday across far south central, southwest and northern Kansas. Large hailstones and damaging winds pose the greatest threat, but isolated tornadoes are also possible. Partly to mostly sunny, isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible across Nebraska today. The best chance of rain in the Lincoln area will be in the late afternoon and evening hours. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s for central and western Nebraska, while it will be in the 80s for eastern Nebraska. South wind 10 to 20 mph with gusts near 30 mph.

Some parts of Nebraska could see half an inch to three-quarters of an inch Monday and Monday evening.
