An update has been released regarding AEW’s potential interest in ring announcer Samantha Irvin following her WWE departure.

Irvin announced her exit from WWE on social media today, reportedly to the surprise of today’s Raw talent.

As reported in a follow-up story from Fightful Select, numerous sources at both WWE and AEW said they would be “shocked” if AEW didn’t try to sign Irvin, but there’s nothing confirmed that’s in the works just yet.

Irvin’s fiancé Ricochet left WWE and moved to AEW a few months ago after his contract expired.

There were people in WWE who expected her to go after Ricochet because they were “easing scheduling for her family.”

Irvin has not provided a reason or motivation for her departure from WWE at this time, nor what contract status she had at the time of her departure.
