EL PASO, TX (KVIA) – Early voting begins today with 33 locations open throughout El Paso County. Voters can cast their vote anywhere, regardless of where they live.

Early voting lasts two weeks, including weekends, until Election Day. Voting times vary by location and voters can check the county’s website for wait times, which are updated every 30 minutes.

Voters are reminded to bring one of seven acceptable forms of identification:

• Texas driver’s license
• Texas voter ID card
• Texas ID card
• Texas handgun license
• United States military ID card
• United States Citizenship Certificate
• United States passport (book or card)

If voters do not have any of these documents, they can use supporting documents such as:

• A government document that contains your name and an address, including your voter registration certificate
• Current electricity bill
• Bank statement
• Government check
• Paycheck
• A notarized domestic birth certificate (from a U.S. state or territory) or a court-admissible birth verification document verifying your identity (including a foreign birth certificate)

Election officials say they expect a high turnout: “Please be patient. It will take your poll workers five minutes to check you in. The ballot will be long, so voters will be at the express voting machines for maybe eight, 10 minutes, depending on how long it takes them to get on the ballot,” Melissa Martin said. The Election Information and Resources Coordinator told ABC-7.

To minimize time at the polls, voters are encouraged to use the “My Voter Dashboard” on the county’s website, where they can view and print a personalized sample ballot. “You can just print it out. Use that as a reference when you go to the polls,” Martin said.
