Several injury question marks for Borussia Dortmund ahead of the game against Real Madrid

Borussia Dortmund will be sweating on the fitness of some key players ahead of their trip to face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

There will be a second leg of last year’s UEFA Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on Tuesday evening. The Black and Yellows will be looking for revenge after losing the final 2-0. However, they may be without a number of key players against the Spanish giants.

Nuri Sahin will only be able to count on Karim Adeyemi, Julien Duranville and Gio Reyna after the international break in November. The absence of the trio is a huge blow for Borussia Dortmund as they are left with no options in attack.

Pascal Groß was also injured in Friday’s 2-1 win against St. Pauli and had to sit out at halftime. The 33-year-old is struggling with slight muscle problems, but Ruhr Nachrichten reports that Borussia Dortmund are confident they can play against Real Madrid.

In defense, Yan Couto is still out due to injury. While Niklas Süle is questionable for the trip to Madrid. The central defender struggled with a gastrointestinal complaint but is now on the mend. He will hope to get back into the rhythm of the game and could start on the bench in Madrid.

The rest of the Borussia Dortmund squad should be available for selection. After two matchdays in the redesigned league phase of the UEFA Champions League, BVB is at the top of the table, while Real Madrid is in 17th place.
