Cameras caught Mike Tomlin’s reaction to Russell Wilson’s bad pass in the Steelers game

The speech of Football on Sunday evenings Russell Wilson made his first start with the Pittsburgh Steelers against the New York Jets and it didn’t take long for Wilson to take some criticism.

The Steelers fans at Acrisure Stadium erupted in boos early in the game as Wilson and the Steelers offense went three straight drives to start the first quarter.

On one of the Steelers’ offensive plays, Wilson missed a wide-open Calvin Austin to his left, which may have been due in part to running back Najee Harris slapping the ball into Wilson’s hands as Wilson faked the handoff.

Whatever the case, the pass was incomplete and Steelers coach Mike Tomlin was less than thrilled. After the failed play, the cameras immediately panned to Tomlin, and Tomlin looked like he was starting to doubt his decision to pick veteran Justin Fields.

Wilson replaced Fields under center, although Fields helped lead Pittsburgh to a 4-2 record through the first six games. Wilson has currently completed 4 of 11 passes for 81 yards, while his start against the Jets was painfully slow SNF.
