Steelers fans boo Russell Wilson during the first half of Sunday Night Football

In his debut with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Acrisure Stadium gave a less-than-warm reception to Russell Wilson’s early game.

Wilson went 2/8 for 19 yards early in the second quarter against the New York Jets. That led to boos from the crowd after another incompletion led to a third straight three-pointer for their offense.

On the following drive, however, Wilson was significantly better with two completions alone. He hit George Pickens on a 44-yard completion before hitting Darnell Washington for 18 more yards in a nine-play drive that ended in a field goal for Pittsburgh.

Quarterback was the biggest conversation regarding Pittsburgh this week. After starting 4-2 with Justin Fields, Wilson made his first appearance with his new team this season. That was after Field was 106-160 (66.3%) for 1,106 yards, five touchdowns and one interception, as well as 231 yards and five more scores rushing as a starter to start the season.

Wilson still has some work to do to get back to himself after his first snaps of the season. That starts with turning some of those boos into a few cheers before the end of their primetime game tonight.

A day after hosting Saturday Night Live on NBC, Michael Keaton did the promo for Sunday Night Football between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets tonight. The Pennsylvania native took the opportunity to support his hometown team while also taking a few shots at the opponent.

Keaton also referenced the recent trade between Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers. The couple spent eight seasons together in Green Bay. Adams will now make his debut with the Jets against the Steelers.
