The Pittsburgh Steelers will soon have a chance to see what they’ve been missing when wide receiver Davante Adams and the New York Jets come to town for a Week 7 game on Sunday Night Football.

On NFL Network Good morning footballPeter Schrager reported that the Jets are wasting no time integrating Adams into their offense and plan to use him against the Steelers.

“I was just told in New York that Davante Adams is not only there, but he’s knee deep in the game plan and has already started. Not only will he play against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he’ll be a big part of the game plan on Sunday night,” Schrager said. “He’ll have a real role even if he gets there this week.”

Adams was traded to New York by the Las Vegas Raiders for a conditional 2025 third-round pick on Tuesday morning. The deal had been in the works for some time, as evidenced by the fact that the 31-year-old star took a red-eye flight and arrived at the Jets’ facility for a physical before the deal was officially finalized.

He is set to reunite with former Green Bay Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers, who was a driving force in the pair’s reunion. The duo’s existing familiarity and chemistry will help Adams settle in quickly, and the presence of former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, whose playing duties were recently lifted, should also help with the transition.

He missed each of his last three games with the Raiders due to a hamstring injury, although all signs point to him starting against the Steelers. Adams has recorded 18 receptions for 209 yards and one touchdown this season.

Pittsburgh will now have to contend with a talented Jets offense that includes both Adams and Garrett Wilson, one of the better receiver tandems in the league, as well as Rodgers and running back Breece Hall.

The Steelers made Adams an offer, but they couldn’t push it past the finish line. The team’s hunt for a receiver will continue, but the reminder of what could have been will be staring them right in the face on Sunday.
