Last year’s No. 1 overall pick was more than just a member of the scout team here in Week 7.

After playing the role of Washington Commanders star rookie Jayden Daniels in practice all week, Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young saw real action in the game this afternoon. Young, still the offense’s second-leading passer, entered the game with his team trailing 7-40 at 4:55 of the fourth quarter.

He replaced starter Andy Dalton, who finished Sunday’s bust with just 93 yards and two interceptions. To that point, the Panthers had only scored on one of their nine touches of the ball.

Young’s first possession ended with a three-pointer. He completed both passes, with the second resulting in a 6-yard loss on a reception behind the line of scrimmage by running back Miles Sanders.

Through seven weeks of his sophomore season, Young has completed 37 of his 65 pass attempts (56.9 percent) for 297 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions.
