Brandon Aiyuk left the field with a knee injury; Deebo Samuel also ruled out

49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk was sent off the sideline before halftime on Sunday.

Aiyuk was injured with 37 seconds left in the half while catching a 15-yard pass from Brock Purdy. He was crushed between Justin Reid and Chamarri Conner. Reid’s body squeezed Aiyuk’s left ankle and Conner’s hip rammed Aiyuk’s right knee.

It was a horrible looking device.

The 49ers were without Aiyuk due to a knee injury.

It’s another serious injury for the 49ers, who have also ruled out wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Samuel stopped playing much after he fell ill.

He returned to the sidelines in street clothes in the second half.

The 49ers didn’t have running back Christian McCaffrey all season. The reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year is trying to return from bilateral Achilles tendonitis.

Wide receiver Jauan Jennings is inactive today. Two kickers are also out, with Jake Moody on injured reserve and safety Talanoa Hufanga remaining on injured reserve.

The 49ers trailed the Chiefs 14-12 with a 23-yard touchdown drive after Deommodore Lenoir picked Patrick Mahomes, who also threw a pick in the first half. Purdy scored on a 1-yard run, but Anders Carlson’s PAT hit the left upright.
