Christian: It’s a mix of emotions. I’m excited, I’m nervous, I’m scared. It’s a crazy ride that’s just beginning.

Mimi: We’ll feel everything until Monday, I guess. Then we’ll know how we’ll feel.

People can come across differently on reality TV. Are there any moments that you have concerns about airing?

Mimi: I feel like I’ve really been myself this whole time, you know, given the circumstances of being in a pressure cooker. I think if something bad happens or I don’t like what I said or did, I can always think about it and talk about it too. Kristian: I’m not necessarily scared of it or anything, but I think it’s going to be tough watching the last few weeks of me slowly falling apart. Just diving back into all those feelings. But other than that, I think it’s going to be pretty straightforward.

Was the show different than expected?

Mimi: Much worse.

Christian: I think it was much more difficult.

Mimi: It was probably 10,000 times worse than we thought it would be. I think that was coupled with the fact that we were on Phillip Island, so far from civilisation and then having to drive and everything. It was quite a challenge.

Christian: I think for the first four or five weeks of the show I thought, “Maybe it’s not as hard as it seems.” But towards the end it definitely got harder because you haven’t slept enough, your body is so tired, and you’re constantly thinking about something.

What impact did it have on your relationship?

Mimi: Because we’ve only been married for a short time, it was definitely the ultimate test, but we did it. I think when we came out we were like, “OK, we just have to be super proud of ourselves for being able to do something as crazy as this.” What we did is not normal.

What was your relationship with the other candidates?

Mimi: I felt like we all got along. But when there’s a judging and someone you don’t agree with wins, then of course it’s disappointing because we all really supported our houses and our rooms. And then when you think they don’t deserve it and you feel like you deserve it – that’s when it gets difficult. But at the end of the day, we just want everyone to do well. I know that sounds crazy, but it’s true.

Mimi, it is said that you are interested in acting. Is that your dream?

Mimi: I never actually mentioned it. I saw an article that said, “She’s really keen to get her acting career going.” Where did you get that from? I’m a dancer. I’d love to (stay in entertainment), but not in a show or anything. That’s definitely not what I want to do.
