Holloway scored his first goal for the Blues, making it 3-1 at 1:31 with a shot between the legs that trickled past Kochetkov.

Svechnikov gave the Hurricanes an early 1-0 lead at 1:21 of the first period when he slammed Aho’s cross-crew pass into the net after a great forechecking effort from Seth Jarvis.

Hofer kept the Blues in the game, making 18 saves in the first game as the Hurricanes defeated St. Louis 19-4.
