Micah Parson talks Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning as Texas gets off to a slow start against Georgia

With the Texas Offensive struggled early Georgia The Dallas Cowboys edge rusher was the star on Saturday night Micah Parsons sounded with what was certainly a divisive thought: Maybe Arch Manning should play?

Parsons didn’t directly call for Ewers to be benched, but he certainly wasn’t shy about suggesting that Manning might be the better option. Parsons alluded to Manning’s strong play when Ewers was injured.

“I can’t lie, I know it’s hard to compare the competition, but Archie had that offense much more exciting!! Man, I don’t know, both good QBs!!” Parsons said on social media.

Manning has played in four games in 2024 since Saturday night, completing 70.5% of his passes for 901 yards and nine touchdowns with two interceptions, with the majority of that production coming as a starter in place of an injured Ewers.

Ewers played in as many games entering Saturday, but had a higher passing rate and completed a higher percentage of his passes, 72.2%. He passed for 890 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions.

But early in the game against Georgia, Ewers struggled to find open receivers in time before he was overwhelmed by the pass rush or had to drop out. Early in the second quarter, he threw an interception that enabled a scoring drive for Georgia and a 17-0 Bulldogs lead over Texas.
